Jere Silber of Silver Spring Finds Success in Books, TV, Movies, Comedy

Jere Silber, a Kennedy High School graduate, likes to write. Since discovering his passion, he has written children’s books, produced and written screen plays and a television series with musician Richie Havens.

The Silver Spring resident also worked on a teaching video for Montgomery County Police about what teenagers need to know when stopped by police. Another of his videos, on recognizing aggression, was praised by former Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler.

He has performed standup comedy and even protected the late comedian Soupy Sales, famous for taking pies in his face, from unwanted flying pies.

His company is called Morgan’s Magical Media in honor of his daughter who insisted he write a book for her. His most recent book, “Together,” is an A, B, C book about animals filled with rhymes and “fun facts.”
